Drainage systems combine pipes, catch basins and grate systems to help control surface water during a rain and to eliminate puddles and soggy soil areas after the rain stops. Drainage may even help control a waterproofing problem at less cost. However, drainage systems are not warrantied to control foundation leaks while waterproofing systems are warrantied.

Landscaping changes may produce the same benefits of a drainage system and is the better solution if the costs are reasonable (drainage solutions can be less expensive than major landscaping changes). However the assumption that Landscaping experts can solve foundation leaks usually costs our clients money because eventually they have waterproofing installed.
